BENTHIC GRAB

Going down is easy. Bringing it back up is the job.

You're stranded on an ocean planet with a broken rocket and one way out: a rusty crane bolted to a lonely platform. Somewhere below the waves lie the three parts your rocket needs to fly again. All you have to do is fish them out.

Lower the hook, swing it into sunken wrecks, flooded factories and ancient ruins, grab whatever looks valuable... and then comes the hard part: getting it back up in one piece. Heavy loads swing like pendulums, the cable strains and snaps, the motor overheats, fragile relics crack on every bump, and the deep is full of things that would love to bite through your line.

FEATURES

- Physics-driven crane: steer the hook with the trolley, manage swing, tension, heat and energy on every lift.

- A continuous ocean from the sunny shallows down to a pitch-black trench, with sonar, a floodlight and hazards like Cable Sharks, Electric Eels, strong currents and sharp edges.

- 30 pieces of salvage to recover: giant screwdrivers, pirate rum, live bombs (don't bump those), a suspiciously fresh cheese wheel and much more.

- Sell your finds, take side jobs from the radio and spend your credits on 17 upgrades for your cable, motor, claw and sensors.

- Daily energy and nightly maintenance: plan your dives, push your luck, and decide when to call it a day.

- Failure costs you, but never ends your run: lose a load, snap the cable or call a rescue, and you can always dive again.

- Step-by-step tutorial and tooltips, so you can jump right in.

Recover the Ignition Battery, the Propulsion Reactor and the Navigation Core, rebuild your rocket and leave this planet behind.

Made in Godot 4 for Eclipse's October game jam with the theme SALVAGE.

Hey, I also participated in that publisher's Game Jam. If like us you are not entirely satisfied on how confusing things went about that jam I invite you to submit your game to the Salvage the Jam so we can have a safe place where we can all showcase, play, and feedback our games!

Go check it out :)
